This lesson came together nicely. I like the idea of the mock trial. This will really have the students engaged as they dig through evidence to support their claims. And of course they will learn a lot in the process. I also like your assessment plan -the initial journal entry with subsequent entries to show what they are thinking. Good work!
This is such a huge and important part of Alaska’s history it should not ever go untaught like it did in my AK history course in high school. Overall, I thought the lesson plan was engaging and sounded thought provoking and fun.
