This was the first time when I used GoogleMyMaps to do a walking tour and I enjoyed every moment. I think this is a great tool to use in a Social Studies class because it will keep the students engaged and focused on their task.
As a future Science Teacher, I will definitely use HaikuDeck in my classes for previewing a unit or as an assignment for students. This will give them the opportunity to explain different processes using images and key words.
Overall, I was very excited about both of the tools that were presented today. I believe technology is an important part of teaching and we should embrace that.
Iona, this was incredibly interesting to see what it look like in Romania. I am certainly hooked and would love to visit, the places you chose to highlight look amazing. I also agree with your comments on using it in your future science classes, it will definitely keep the students engaged.

It is like a fairytale land, right out of a storybook. Did you live in this part of town, or did you live in a more modern part of town?
Those sausages at the restaurant look scary, though.. They look long enough to feed an entire table of people; I will take the potatoes!
Hi Meg, I live in the modern part of town, but I grew up in the old part of town(my grandparents’ house was close to all these wonderful buildings). About the sausages 🙂 they are really tasty and usually shared at the dinner table with other dishes.
Hi Ioana! Can’t wait to use this tour when I visit Brasov 🙂 I hadn’t thought about Haiku Deck as a resource for science class, but I definitely see how it could enhance the subject for a lot of students. That could be a wonderful use of technology.

This is fascinating. Were so used to seeing boring old building here in America. It’s a breath of fresh air to see such a different place. I’d like to learn more about the String Street.

The Black Church is awe inspiring. I’ve been to the gothic cathedral in Cologne, Germany and your church looks maybe even cooler. Brasov as a whole definitely looks more interesting than Cologne.
There is nothing in Alaska like this. Downtown Juneau is quaint and pretty at least but downtown Anchorage looks as if it was built as the antithesis of its incredibly beautiful natural surroundings. I tell visitors the city planners just decided not to compete with nature…but I wish they had tried a little.
